FLASH FLOOD — 1 N Mcandrews, KY
Social media post from 5:48 PM shows continued flash flooding in between Stone and McAndrews, with water from Pond Creek up out of its banks and surrounding homes along Cross Street. A car is shown submerged in the flood waters, caught on the bridge that crosses Pond Creek at the intersection of KY-199 and Williamsons Grocery Road. Pike County EM states that the driver hit a curve with water in it and lost control. The car wound up in Pond Creek, but the occupants escaped the vehicle as the creek current swept it away. The car then floated down the creek until it hit this bridge. EM reports that 2 state troopers initially thought someone might still be in the vehicle, which put them in a dangerous situation. There are multiple photos of the car floating down Pond Creek on social media. The occupants posted in the comment sections of these posts that they are okay and unharmed.

FLASH FLOOD — Belfry, KY
Updates previous flash flood report from Belfry. Video posted to social media at 5:33 PM showing flash flooding along Pond Creek in Belfry. Pike County Emergency Management reports that flood waters did not get up onto US-119, but that floodwaters did inundate alleys that back up to the river in Belfry. The social media video was taken from a residence along Murphy Bottom Road, and neighboring Pine Street is a gentle sloping alleyway road down to the waterway. Water had inundated the backyards of these residences, so Pine Street was likely an alley road that got inundated. Pike County EM also reports that a garage on Murphy Bottom Road took on water from the flash flooding.

FLASH FLOOD — 1 N Mcandrews, KY
Social media post from 5:32 PM shows Red Robin Lane completely inundated from flash flood waters coming out of Pond Creek. Pike County Emergency management later confirmed that flood waters entered the ambulance service building at Stone. Pond Creek was out of its banks through Stone. Water eventually made it onto KY-199 from Pond Creek in Stone, closer to Trout Town Lane.
