    WILDFIRE — 8 W Fort Robinson, NE

    *** 1 INJ *** Lightning strike from a nearby thunderstorm stuck a T-post 12 feet into the Nebraska National Forest igniting the South Fork Wildland fire. Under favorable conditions and numerous wind shifts the fire quickly spread to the east and south overnight of June 9. Highway 20 and Fort Robinson State Park were closed June 10. The Fort Robinson State Park Museum evacuated with artifacts safely transferred. During June 11 the northern parts of Crawford were under an evacuation as the fire encroached the area.
