Mitre Rock Fire
Mitre Rock fire started in August 1, 2026 and is located 19 miles northwest of Davenport, Washington. Northwest Complex Incident Management Team 3 is in command. Rock Fire
As of August 3, 2026, the Rock Fire Inciweb will no longer be updated. If you have questions related to the Inyo National Forest, please call 760-873-2400.The Rock Fire started in the Aberdeen area, south of Big Pine, north of Independence at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Monday, July 21. The cause is under investigation. The fire is currently 12,008 acres and is 97% contained. Firefighters continue to engage in work on the Rock Fire. The fire continues to burn and firefighters are working hard to increase containment on all perimeters. Impacted Trailheads on the Inyo National Forest include Sawmill, Taboose, Red Lake and Birch. The Rock Fire is in Unified Command with CAL FIRE San Bernardino Unit, and the Inyo National Forest.Information on evacuations, road closures, and shelters may be found at the Ready Inyo Office of Emergency Management page.
