    Keystone Fire

    Team Colorado returns the fire to the local unit at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026. This page will be updated only if conditions warrant.The Keystone Fire was ignited by lightning in the 2018 burn scar of the Indian Valley Fire on July 21, 2026. Local, state and federal ground and aerial firefighting resources responded and worked together to put retardant and water on the fire as quickly as possible. By evening, the Northwest Colorado Fire Management Unit placed an order for a Type 3 Incident Management Team, and Team Colorado assumed command of the fire at 6:00 a.m. July 23. There are currently no human lives or structures threatened.
