Hay Creek Complex
The original Hay Creek Complex fires, which included the Hoag, Hopkin, McInnes, Porcupine Ridge and Wilcox incidents, were reported July 15 and July 16, 2026 after a lightning storm passed through the area. Northwest Complex Incident Management Team 10 took command of the complex at 6:00 a.m. on July 18. As of July 21, the McInnes and Wilcox fires merged into the Porcupine Ridge Fire. Another lightning storm passed over the area on the night of July 23, igniting new wildfires across the region. The Cottonwood and Little Buck fires were reported shortly after and were added to the complex on July 23 and 25. The fires are burning in Gilliam, Sherman and Wasco counties.
