    .KEY MESSAGES...

    - Elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions persist across portions of Central and Eastern Washington, particularly through the Okanogan Valley, through at least Tuesday.

    - Areas of showers and breezy east winds in Idaho and far eastern reaches of Washington Tuesday.

    - A warming trend will bring widespread highs in the 90s coupled with warm overnight lows in the upper 50s to upper 60s.

    - Forecast uncertainty increases mid to late week with potential for showers and thunderstorms.

    .SYNOPSIS... An expansive ridge centered over the Central U.S. will maintain its influence over the Inland Northwest early this week, driving a warming trend through Wednesday. Persistent breezy winds and low humidity will maintain elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions across portions of Central and Eastern Washington. By midweek, a surge of monsoonal moisture will introduce chances for showers and thunderstorms.

    On 7/4/2026 @ 0029 a fire started and local resources began initial attack. Southeast Washington Type 3 Incident command took over command at 6:00 PM on 7/4/26.Suppression efforts focused on mop-up operations to strengthen containment, secure the fire perimeter, and reduce the potential for flare-ups. Firefighters will continue to patrol and monitor the fire area as red flag fire weather conditions continue. Fire personnel will be repairing control lines where safe to do so around the perimeter of the fire. A cooling trend is forecast to begin Wednesday that will moderate temperatures but that will come with increased winds out of the West. Crews will be focused on securing the fire lines ahead of the expected gusty winds and monitoring them as they are wind tested.
