    Monday, July 20, 2026California Incident Management Team 1 assumed command of five wildfires between Prineville and Paulina, Oregon at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 19. Fire activity remains elevated across the southern portions of the incident where timber, grass, and shrub fuel types continue to support active fire behavior and additional acreage growth. The southern perimeter continues to spread in alignment with the area’s topography. A predominantly northwest wind pattern is forecasted over the next several days and a Fire Behavior and Fuels Advisory remains in effect across the state.Local resources, including hotshot crews, engine crews, and a smoke jumping team assigned to the Crooked Fire to continue suppression efforts for these incidents while prioritizing firefighter and public safety. To strengthen suppression efforts and support ongoing operations, additional firefighting resources have been requested and will continue to arrive as needed.Community members are encouraged to attend a public in person meeting on Tuesday, July 21, at 6:00 p.m. at the Post General Store located at 28550 SE Paulina Highway, Post OR 97752.     Coyote Fire

    The Coyote Fire was reported on Friday, July 16th. The fire is located 5 miles south of Post, OR. Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 5 assumed command of the Coyote and Henry Fires on August 2nd. The Coyote and Henry Fires remain confined to their current footprint and no growth is anticipated outside of the established fire perimeter. However, interior smoldering will persist as vegetation remains dry. Crews will focus on extinguishing these remaining heat sources and improving containment lines.
